Dinosaurs roam the Earth at the Dino Dash for Tustin schools – Orange County Register

Dinosaurs roamed the Earth at The Market Place in Tustin Sunday, Nov. 5 — in the forms of furry costumes, plastic blow-ups, balloons and trophies.

It was the 27th annual Dinosaur Dash fundraiser for the Tustin Public Schools Foundation, which supports enrichment programs in the district.

The event offered opportunities for serious runners to jog a 10K and serious bicyclists to ride a 50K through Santiago Canyon. It also included shorter running and biking routes for the “just for fun” participants.

Some 140 Tustin Unified colleagues and students jogged as “Team Ian,” in honor of popular Utt Middle School and Tustin High science teacher Ian Williamson, who died last May after a decade-long battle with cancer.

Dino Dash attracted more than 7,000 runners, raising close to $200,000.
